Harsh Environment Heads

Phi manufactures a range of heads for use in harsh environments, such as flight recording, and can design heads to meet exact customer requirements.

• Custom designs for military and harsh environments are subjected to the most stringent Quality Assurance controls throughout the production process to ensure that all magnetic heads have the ability to withstand the rugged conditions to which the whole equipment is subjected.
• Part of the process includes a minimum of 48 hours "burn in" to relieve all mechanical stress characteristics.
• All Phi heads are designed to achieve low core losses, high cross talk rejection and extremely good wear life.
• Stringent adherence to all technical parameters is guaranteed, with close liaison between the customer and our technical departments through all stages of production.
• Applications include instrumentation that is subject to high shock and vibration, analogue, digital and voice data logging and flight and land vehicle data logging.
